Burnham-On-Sea cyclists’ cross-country ride raises £1,500 for hospice

-

A group of 54 local cyclists have this week raised over £1,500 for charity in a ride across Somerset.

The riders, all from the Burnham and Highbridge area, started off at Burnham’s Swim and Sports Academy, as pictured here, before heading to Crook Peak and Brent Knoll, hiking up the two hills.

They then pedalled back to Burnham – a 22-mile round trip.

Organiser Simon Lawrence told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had fantastic support and thank everyone who donated or took part on the day – it went really well and we’re delighted to have raised £1,500 for Weston Hospice.”

“We are unable to take part in this coming weekend’s Mendip Challenge in aid of the hospice, and so wanted to hold a separate event for help them instead.”
