Well-known songs and dances from popular musicals and movies will be performed at Burnham-On-Sea’s Curtain Call School of Performing Arts annual winter show today (Saturday, November 13th).
‘It’s Show Time’ will feature toe-tapping favourites from Glee, Moulin Rouge, Cabaret and Chicago.
The group’s sixth annual show will take place at The Princess Theatre on Saturday 13th November at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
“We can’t wait until show day,” the school’s Amanda Ham told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“It will be the first time that some of the children have been on stage and they’re all so excited!”
“Everyone has worked very hard towards the show and I’m very proud of all the student’s achievements. It takes a lot of courage to perform in front of an audience, but if you’re brave enough to do it, it will stand you in good stead for the rest of your life.”
Tickets, costing £9.50 each and £6.50 for concessions, are available by calling the studio on 01278 238087. Tickets will also be available on the door 30 minutes prior to each performance.
2010 has been an extremely busy year for the school. It started off on a high when every student entered into the drama section of the Highbridge Festival of the Arts won medals
Then, in May, Burnham’s Mayor Michael Clarke and his wife Maria officially opened Curtain Call’s new premises at The Old Creamery in Highbridge. The summer also brought an appearance on BBC Somerset Sound followed by successful RAD Ballet exams, ISTD Tap exams and LCM Musical Theatre exams with one student receiving a Distinction with 96% for her grade 8.
Curtain Call is involved with the Give It A Go! scheme, which means enables eligible children to have their place at Curtain Call funded by the council.
