Burnham and Highbridge Town Band was the centre of attention on Saturday afternoon (September 27th) when they performed a special outdoor concert in the town to mark the start of the UK’s four-year Cultural Olympiad during the run-up to the 2012 Olympics.
Fifty free concerts in 50 bandstands were held across the South West, including in Burnham’s Manor Gardens, to celebrate the launch of the Cultural Olympiad.
The event is a four-year celebration of arts and culture being held across the UK in the run-up to London 2012.
Although the crowds were not large for Saturday’s concert, those who attended were treated to a lively line-up of traditional big band music.
