Berrow Scout Group has received a funding boost this week from Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club.
Representatives from the Lions Club visited the Cubs and Beavers of 1st Berrow Scout Group to present them with a cheque for £300.
The Cubs and Beavers have been busily raising funds through sponsored walks and silences and a successful quiz night to buy tents and equipment for the Somerset Scouts Big Camp, which is set to take place over the August Bank Holiday Weekend.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the youngsters but camping is an expensive business these days.
Cub Sixer Sam Bishop, 10, said: “This is a very welcome boost to our fundraising efforts and the money will buy us two tents for the Big Camp. We are extremely grateful to the Lions Club for supporting us.”
