A group of Cubs in Bridgwater has raised £200 for Burnham-On-Sea’s hovercraft and lifeboat charities.
When 20 Cubs from 14th Bridgwater Scout Group visited BARB and Burnham RNLI in September last year, they were inspired by the work they do for the community.
They decided to do their bit to support both organisations and took inspiration from Bradley Wiggins by jumping on an exercise bike and each sharing the whopping 27.3 miles, the same distance Bradley rode in last year’s Olympic Road Cycling Time Trial Course.
At a presentation evening on Tuesday the 8, 9 and 10 year-old Cub Scouts presented two cheques to representatives from both the RNLI and BARB and had the opportunity to try out some of the rescue kit used at sea, as pictured here.
