Delighted regulars and staff at a pub near Burnham-On-Sea were celebrating on Saturday (February 16th) when it received the title of Somerset’s Pub of the Year 2013 from the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The Crossways Inn in West Huntspill has won the prestigious county award for the first time, going one step further than its ‘pub of the season’ award last Spring.
Bar Manager Steve Dean, pictured receiving the award from CAMRA’s Phil Edmonson, right, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s a huge honour to have won this award – we’re very proud. It’s a great reward for all the work put in.”
“I’m a bit of an obsessive about my my real ales and always ensure they are kept and served in the very best conditions. I’m very pleased therefore that the quality of our beers has been recognised.”
The pub’s owners, husband and wife Shane and Jaime Wallace, are hoping they can advance in the regional stage of the competition.
