Crosses have been laid next to Burnham-On-Sea’s war memorial this week during a short ceremony to dedicate the ground where the town’s Remembrance Day commemorations will be held this coming weekend.
A crowd of onlookers watched Sunday’s ceremony outside Burnham Hospital in Love Lane, as pictured, which was led by members of Burnham Royal British Legion.
A brief service was led by Reverend Eric Petrie in which a recording of the Last Post was played, followed by readings and prayers.
This Sunday’s Remembrance Day commemorations will be held as usual at 11am besides the war memorial.
