Crosses were laid next to Burnham-On-Sea’s war memorial on Sunday (November 7th) during a short ceremony to dedicate the ground where next week’s Remembrance Day parade will be held.
Burnham’s Mayor and Mayoress, Michael and Maria Clarke, were among those taking part in the event outside Burnham Hospital in Love Lane alongside members of the town’s Royal British Legion.
A brief service was led by Reverend Eric Petrie in which a recording of the Last Post was played. Next weekend’s Remembrance Sunday commemorations will be held as usual at 11am besides the war memorial.
