Dozens of students at Highbridge’s King Alfred School Academy will benefit from the inspirational coaching of highly-respected local athletics coach Simon Prior.
Simon is also the father of former school student and England international Luke Prior, 20.
In March this year Luke was selected to join Team GB at the World Cross Championships in Kampala and he has also won gold medals in the England 5000m competition and is ranked 13th in the UK over 10000 metres.
King Alfred School has launched a new Cross-Country running club as part of its ongoing improvements and new principal Nathan Jenkins said: “This is a very exciting opportunity for King Alfred School students.”
“We want to provide inspiration and top quality training across a wide variety of activities and pursuits. We are really fortunate to have access to such a top coach with links to English Athletics.”
