Stranded cow rescued from river estuary by Burnham-On-Sea fire crew

-

Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea were called out on Sunday (July 17th) to rescue a cow stranded in a local river estuary.

The fire service was called to assist with a cow stuck in a water at Diamond Farm Caravan Park in Brean at 4pm.

Burnham-On-Sea crews and a specialist water rescue team from Bridgwater were mobilised to the incident.

“Once in attendance crews confirmed there was a cow stuck in tidal water, swimming,” said a spokesman.

“The cow managed to swim to an area where they were able to attach water safety equipment, enabling them to secure and rescue the cow.”
