A paperback version of a new fantasy children’s book set in Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens has been launched this week.
Berrow author Linda Bond’s ‘The Marine Cove Princess’, a short story for children is inspired by the seafront gardens and is now available in hard copy.
The £3.49 book was launched at Marine Cove on Saturday during its community day, featured here.
The idea for the book came about after a discussion with Marine Cove’s gardener, Jacqui Strong. “We got talking about how marvellous it would be for a fantasy children’s story to be written based around the gardens, and in particular this superb pool. It was a wonderful idea and the plans for the book quickly started forming,” said Linda.
“The end result is a short story aimed at children that features a young girl going through a tough time in her life who is inspired by what she happens when she visits the gardens. She discovers a positive new purpose in her life.”
The short story is available as an eBook for the Kindle here and is now also available in hardback here, priced £3.49. The front cover was designed by local teenager Megan Masters, who was also at Saturday’s launch.
