Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens will be hosting a day of free Easter family fun on Saturday (April 4th).
The event will take place between 10am and 12 mid-day when a line-up of Easter craft and fun activities will be held for all the family.
The gardens on Burnham’s Esplanade will be alive with activity, including an Easter egg hunt with prizes up for grabs, and a bonnet parade. In case of wet weather the organisers will have gazebos on stand-by.
Alongside this event, local children are being invited to enter a colouring competition to draw and colour a picture of Marine Cove. A winner in each age category will be picked (5 and under, 6-11 and 12 and over) the week after the event and awarded a prize.
A Sedgemoor spokeswoman said: “All local schools have been contacted about the competition so we are hoping for some great entries. Why not pay the gardens a visit before Easter to get an idea of what you can draw in the gardens: our cherub, sundial, the pond or some of the lovely flowers perhaps? We look forward to seeing lots of families at the Easter event and know we’ll have a tough job selecting the winners in the competition’.”
“If you prefer something more green-fingered we have a second event on Easter Saturday with the monthly gardening session taking place. If you are interested in gardening, want to find out more about the gardens history or joining the Friends of Marine Cove then come along between 12-2pm when the Community Gardener and Friends will be on-hand completing general maintenance tasks.”
