Four residents have this week put forward their names to be considered for a vacant position on Burnham and Highbridge Town Council.
The council is seeking a local person to fill the vacancy, which was created last month when Alan Miller stepped down due to poor health.
A costly by-election was avoided because ten parishioners in the Highbridge ward did not come forward, however the council intends to co-opt a member instead and invited expressions of interest.
Town Council Clerk Denise Emery told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Four residents put forward their names by this week’s deadline. Councillors are now studying the applications and will be making a decision at Monday evening’s full council meeting on who takes the position.”
Councillors will vote on who should take on the role during the full council meeting being held at 7pm on Monday June 2nd.
