A new report out this week shows the attendance levels of Burnham-On-Sea councillors at district council meetings over the past year.
Sedgemoor District Council has issued the annual report to highlight the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes at the council.
Leading the attendance of local councillors is Brent Knoll’s Bob Filmer, who is a member of eight committees and is also Chairman of the Development Control Committee. He attended 136 meetings during the year.
Cllr Dennis Davey attended 96 meetings, Cllr Neville Jones attended 52, Cllr Arthur Thorogood (34), Cllr Mike Mansfield (48), Cllr Joe Leach (20), Cllr Eric Gill (36), Cllr Peter Burridge-Clayton (30), Cllr John Laband (10), Cllr Jane Moreton (30) and Cllr Danny Titcombe (3).
The figures – covering April 2010 to April 2011 – show the attendance of each member of the council at meetings of the Council, the Executive, committees and sub committees, Development Committee site visits, meetings of external bodies to which Members of the Council have been appointed by the Council, meetings of formal working groups set up by Council committees, Parish Cluster meetings and Parish Council meetings to which members have been invited in their capacity as Ward Members.
