Burnham and Highbridge Town Council held its annual town meeting on Monday evening (April 14th) when residents got a chance to hear local hot topics and events.
The meeting was held in Burnham’s Princess Theatre and was attended by more than 30 residents.
The evening included displays and presentations from Highbridge and Burnham Artists’ Sarah Berryman, Burnham Food & Drink Festival’ Bev Milner Simonds, Sedgemoor History Group’s John Strickland and BIARS’ Tom Ashton.
A Q&A session was also held where residents got a chance to quiz councillors about hot topics before the evening ended with a report from Burnham and Highbridge’s Mayor, Cllr Martin Cox.
He said the new format for the meeting had worked well, raising the profile of several local groups while also helping to increase the attendance.
