A fundraising cooking demonstration in Highbridge has raised hundreds of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The showrooms at Benton Kitchens on the Isleport Industrial Park were the setting for an entertaining and informative demonstration of festive receipes.
The recipes expertly prepared by Sue Bridger, Area Chairperson for MacMillan Cancer Support, included Sausagemeat Layer Pie, Cheese Soufflé Bites and a Tropical Trifle. All the dishes were included as raffle prizes and helped to raise £755.
The Burnham-On-Sea Macmillan Cancer Support Committee work throughout the year, organising fund raising events and holding in-store collections. A recent collection at Burnham’s Tesco supermarket raised £1,187.
“The committee would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped with the collection and the latest event,” said Shirley Endall, Chairman of Burnham Macmillan Cancer Support Committee.
“Benton Kitchens was very kindly provided free of charge, ensuring that all monies collected went directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.”
