New community events board unveiled outside Burnham’s B&M store

-

A new noticeboard promoting local events has been installed outside a Burnham-On-Sea supermarket thanks to the work of two community groups.

The recently-launched Burnham Men’s Sheds group – who share tools and resources to undertake practical, hands-on projects in a friendly, inclusive environment – has teamed up with BOS Events to unveil the new noticeboard outside B&M in Burnham’s Pier Street.

Gaynor Brown from BOS Events told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “As the first project for our new Men’s Shed group, this is a real asset to the town.”

“When Morrisons closed, BOS Events was given the use of the advertising board on the corner. This year we have been given permission to put up our own board by B M and we will manage it. Our thanks go to B&M for permitting this.”

She added: “The board will advertise free events only in Burnham. Any group wanting to advertise here can send their poster to me for printing and laminating and posting on the board.”

“Any fly posting will be removed as we’ve promised the board will be kept tidy and clean.”

“Mick and Robert have responded to our request with such speed that it took us by surprise. It is lovely to once again have somewhere where people can go to find out what’s going on and somewhere where events can get some exposure at no cost. With posters banned in town and the Tesco boards not in the obvious places to see, this board is a real blessing and I hope it gets well used.”

Posters for the board can be sent by email in Word or JPEG format to gaynor.brown1@talktalk.net.

Community events can also be promoted online free of charge here on Burnham-On-Sea.com by contacting us here.
