Community-spirited Burnham-On-Sea man receives award

-

A community-spirited Burnham-On-Sea man has been presented with an award to acknowledge his willingness to go the extra mile to help neighbours.

Colin Clark received the award during the annual Residents Day for Homes in Sedgemoor tenants, held at Bridgwater College Academy in Sydenham.

He was presented with the Hugh Mackay Community Award from Mr Mackay, who is a former Chair of the Homes in Sedgemoor Board.

Hugh explained: “I created this award in 2008 to help highlight and reward some excellent examples of community spirit across the areas that Homes in Sedgemoor
works in.”

He added: “It was good to have two nominees this year, and it was a pleasure to present the award to Colin Clark, who is always willing to put himself out to assist all his elderly neighbours in Chichester Close and does things for them on a regular basis showing care and commitment.”

Nominated by Pauline Smith, Colin is a valued member of his community and is always willing to go the extra mile to help. Colin is committed to helping people out every day and is valued, relied on and trusted.

Dawn Lang, Chief Executive of Homes in Sedgemoor, said: “Congratulations to Colin, who does a fantastic job helping out others in his community. He has clearly made a difference to lots of people’s lives and we are very happy to celebrate his care, involvement and dedication.”
