More than £2,300 was collected for local charities during last Sunday night’s seafront fireworks display in Burnham-On-Sea.
Burnham-On-Sea Rotary Club, the official collector at the event, said it was grateful to all those who dug deep to donate.
The club’s President Elect David Underwood told Burnham-On-Sea.com that £2,317.80 had been collected from spectators.
He added: “It was a great collection, thank you to all those who gave. This sum will be divided between the Town Council and the Rotary Club and used to support local charities.”
“Thank you to all our collectors, The Army Cadet Force for their help in collecting and to BOS Hair for the use of their premises.”
Over £12,000 was also raised for good causes by the carnival collection held on Monday evening, as we reported here.
