Burnham-On-Sea Library launches new children’s code club sessions

-

A new series of computer programming workshops for children has started in Burnham-On-Sea this week.

Code Club is a nationwide network of free volunteer-led after-school coding clubs for children aged 9-11.

The projects teach children how to program by showing them how to make computer games and animations.

The local sessions are being held at Burnham-On-Sea Library in Princess Street for children aged 9 and over.

“Each term the students will progress and learn more whilst at the same time using their imaginations and making creative projects,” says a spokesman.

“Terms 1 & 2 use Scratch to teach the basics of programming. Term 3 teaches the basics of web development using HTML and CSS. Term 4 teaches Python and so on.”

Booking is essential and more details are available on 0300 123 2224 or bhmlib@somerset.gov.uk
