Fish stay away during Burnham’s first sea fishing contest of 2010

These two cod were the only fish reeled in by more than 20 anglers during Burnham-On-Sea’s first sea fishing competition of the year on Sunday afternoon (January 24th).

Organised by Burnham Boat Owners Association, the event was well attended by a flotilla of ten boats and 23 anglers… but the fish stayed away.

Competition organiser Craig Willis told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a good turnout of competitors, but the poor fishing season continued for us with just two fish caught of a suitable competition weight.”
