Members of Brean’s Coastline Players drama group are celebrating this week after scooping a number of prizes at an annual awards night for pantomimes across the region.
The Coastline Players attended the annual Cinderella Awards at Westlands Social Club in Yeovil where they won the Spotlight Shield for Best Village Pantomime in Somerset.
It comes after the group performed the pantomime The Woman Who Lived In A Shoe in Brean Village Hall in February, as we covered here.
“After finishing runner-up last year, you can imagine how excited we were to win this prestigious shield this year,” the group’s Greg Fear told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “It was a fantastic result for everyone involved.”
The were also various nominations for the group’s individual members, including Good Fairy of the year – Judith James; Linkman of the year – Phil Crossland; Best Comic Scene – Phil Crossland and Katrina Doyle; Solo Musician of the year – Brian Godwin; Best Female Villain – Pat Harris; Principal Boy of the year – Clare Hunter; Dame of the year – John Robinson and Best Director – Anne Allen.
The people who brought home an award were Stars Of The Future – Kaitlin Jarvis, Sophie Worgan, Izobel Woolley, Katrina Doyle; Brokers Men of the year – Liz Bailey and Linda Bond; and Best Village Design – Kay Hayden and Patrick Allen.
