Brean’s Coastline Players drama group won a haul of awards, including best village pantomime, at Somerset’s equivalent of the theatrical oscars at the weekend.
The group was delighted to scoop the sought-after Spotlight Shield for the best village panto during the Cinderella Awards in Yeovil on Saturday night (May 15th).
Several members of the Coastline Players also won individual awards, including Ed James and Adam Hunter for best brokers men, and Phil Crossland for best comic, plus Ian Pring and Paul Beech for best village musicians.
“We had a fantastic night – we are chuffed to bits to have won the Spotlight Shield which is the highest award possible at this level,” the group’s Phil Crossland told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“Full credit goes to our director, Berverly Baker, for all here work in putting on such a great show earlier this year.”
The group performed Humpty Dumpty in February this year, as covered here by Burnham-On-Sea.com.
