Busy Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards called out twice in one day

-

Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards had a busy day on Sunday (March 25th) after being called to two separate incidents.

In the first incident, shortly after 10am, Coastguards were called to help a lady who had fallen off her horse on Berrow Beach.

“She was given first aid until paramedics arrived on scene and then the team assisted them in moving her to the ambulance. The casualty was taken to hospital for checks but no serious injuries were suspected,” Burnham Station Officer Steve Bird told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Then, in a second incident at 7.45pm, Burnham Coastguards were called to a man cut off by tide in the River Axe next to Brean Down.

“The man was located with assistance from a Weston lifeboat. The man was helped from the river, checked over, and given safety advice before allowed to continue on his way via a safer route.”
