Coastguards from Burnham-On-Sea were called out to help a beach walker in difficulty on Christmas Day morning.
Weston and Burnham Coastguard teams were paged at 11.15am after a man was reported to be stuck in the mud by Weston’s Grand Pier.
“An elderly gentleman from Hull who is here for Christmas had gone for a stroll and got into difficulty in the mud,” a Coastguard spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“He was walked out by Coastguards to an ambulance to be checked over and was unhurt.”
Burnham Coastguards were called to the scene as back-up.
