Burnham Coastguards called to investigate beach lights at Brean

-

Coastguards from Burnham-On-Sea were called to Brean beach yesterday evening (Saturday) after a walker reported concern about seeing several lights.

The team was alerted shortly after 7.15pm and travelled to Brean to investigate, where they found the incident was a false alarm caused by fishermen on Brean Down.

A Burnham Coastguard spokesman said: “This was a false alarm with good intent – we always prefer to be called to investigate incidents like this rather than not and later find someone was in difficulty.”
