Burnham-On-Sea’s MP will be among the protesters joining a march through Berrow today (Saturday, October 24th) as part of a long-running campaign to get a new pavement introduced.
Berrow’s Local Action Team is overseeing the march along Coast Road, which starts at 11am at Berrow Church.
The last march in September caused disruption to motorists, with long queues building up. The aim is to put pressure on the County Council’s Highways Department for action.
MP David Heathcoat-Amory will join Saturday’s march and has previously given his backing to the high-profile campaign.
The marches are being held amid fresh hopes that Somerset County Council will re-consider its decision not to introduce a pavement along the busy road.
“A new Conservative County Council is in place and much work has been undertaken by members of the Berrow Local Action Team. Hopes are high of a resolution,” Chairman Ken May told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
