A new travel service offering coach trips across the south west from Burnham-On-Sea is to launch this Spring.
From April, Avalon Coaches will offer more than 30 itineraries, including day trips, mystery tours and short break holidays – all starting from Burnham’s Pier Street.
“We feel there is a niche to be filled here and hope the service becomes popular with residents and visitors. We feel there is a big market to be served here,” Transport Manager Geoff Rouse told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The trips will be very varied and include places such as Weymouth, Teignmouth and Dawlish, Torquay, Looe and Polperro, Westonbirt Arboretum, Swindon and others further afield such as the Chelsea Flower Show.”
More details and tickets are available at Burnham’s tourist information centre, which is operated by community group BIARS (Burnham Information and Rescue Support).
Ian Jefferies, BIARS Business and Tourism Manager, said: “Many visitors to Burnham have told us they would like a coach service like this which operates from Burnham, so we are really pleased to see it being launched. We are also delighted to have a strong partnership in place with Avalon Coaches.”
