Coach drivers are being offered the chance to win £100 every week by visiting Burnham-On-Sea as part of a new initiative to boost the number of visitors to the town.
As part of its centenary celebrations, Burnham Pavilion, is organising the weekly coach driver raffle in conjunction with Project Coach, Burnham’s coach travel project.
The first weekly draw was held on Easter Day (Sunday 20th April) with others to follow until the end of the summer.
The first raffle of coach drivers who have visited the town over the past week was drawm by Burnham’s Mayor Martin Cox. The cash was won by a driver from Edwards Coaches who visited Burnham last Monday.
Louise Parkin, owner of The Pavilion, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is the first of many weekly draws to be held this year. We hope that drivers will keep coming to Burnham as we appreciate them visiting us and hope that they and the passengers have a lovely time.”
Cllr Cox, Mayor of Burnham and Highbridge, added: “Coach drivers have a long list of benefits when they visit our town thanks to the generosity of the local business community. Not only that, but they now also get a chance to win £100 cash each week. How can a coach driver not wish to come in and visit us? Congratulations go to The Pavilion and Project Coach on joining forces to give even more incentives to the coaching industry to visit.”
And Les Barber, Burnham’s Coach Destination Manager, added: “This is another good reason to visit Burnham. The coach industry is very important to our town and we thank each and every driver that visits us and this draw is another way to show our appreciation. Project Coach is delighted to be playing a part in The Pavilion’s celebrations and we thank them in recognising the value of coaches.”
