The new-look store in Southwell Crescent will open its doors for the first time this Friday (13th August) with a greater product range and improved service, according to bosses.
“As well as a new look and more spacious layout, it will feature enhanced product ranges, with an emphasis on fresh foods,” Highbridge store manager Rob Prowton told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“We are proud to serve the local community and this investment in the store means we can now provide a much enhanced service.”
“We will meet all the community’s daily food shopping needs and, in the best traditions of The Co-operative, make our contribution to community life.”
The Highbridge store – which employs 25 staff – will offer product tastings and giveaways on launch day and over the weekend.
The conversion of the supermarket follows The Co-Operative Group’s £1.56 billion acquisition of the Somerfield supermarket chain last year. All Somerfield branches are being converted to Co-Operatives by 2011.
