This photomontage shows how a brand new two-storey clubhouse at Brean Leisure Park will look when building work finishes next summer.
The park has appointed construction firm Wrencon of Taunton to build the development, which will offer extensive views from its first floor balcony over Brent Knoll and the Mendip Hills. Work has started this month and it is planned to be completed by July 2018.
It will be home to the residents of several new luxury lodges, which are also being constructed on the site, and it will also be equipped with varying sized function room options to cater for weddings, parties, golf society days and conferences for up to 150 people, offering a boost in the current offering for private and corporate events in the area.
The golf course was altered to its current par 69 layout in early 2016 in readiness for the development and quickly gained many excellent reviews from both members and visitors alike.
“One popular feature of the easy-walking course are the numerous shorter loops of holes which are great to play if time is short and a full round is too much,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“As well as the stunning golf course, members at Brean can also enjoy the many other health benefits available to them at the Leisure Park as part of their membership including the swimming facilities at Brean Splash and the recently opened gym.”
“In the last few months the golf club has seen a steady increase in its membership ranks and once the clubhouse is complete the facilities will probably be as extensive as any golf club in Somerset can offer, and see a further boost to membership of the club.”
Alan House, Director at Holiday Resort Unity, added: “We are really excited that this development is now underway and very much looking forward to its opening next year.”
“Not only does this offer the perfect escape for the keen golfer – what better setting than to walk out of your door and onto the course – but the clubhouse will offer a much-needed facility to the local community and wider region in terms of a venue for functions and as a community space, something which has been lacking in this area for some considerable time.”
“With great national focus and PR recently on the English coastline, and in collaboration with our other facilities which we are continually improving, this will also offer an excellent facility and opportunities for corporate team building events and breaks, coastal golf breaks and more.”
