New look for Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft crew

The life-saving team behind Burnham-On-Sea’s rescue hovercraft have a smart new look. The crew’s new outfits – which have been sponsored by the Western Daily Press newspaper – were worn for the first time when they took part in Burnham’s carnival procession through the town on Monday November 8th.

Each team member has a set of smart new attire for formal hovercraft occasions in addition to fire-retardant overauls for call-outs, maintenance and training exercises along the Somerset coast.

BARB chairman Alan Miller said: “We’re delighted with the new look and are very grateful to the Western Daily Press for its generous sponsorship. We’ve been providing a high quality rescue service for some time and now we look the part too!”

The Burnham-On-Sea hovercraft has helped and rescued more than 50 people along the coast from Burnham to Brean Down during the last nine months.
