This was the scene when emergency crews from the Burnham-On-Sea area were called to Cheddar Gorge on Saturday night to help two climbers stuck on the cliffs.
Police from Burnham were alerted at around 4.15pm and a fire crew from Cheddar was initially sent to the scene, followed by a specialist rescue team from Bridgwater.
A fire service spokesman said: “Upon arrival crews confirmed that two climbers were missing. Crews carried out a search of the area using a thermal image camera. Avon Cliff Rescue was also in attendance, liaising with police and ambulance.”
The two climbers were successfully lowered to the base of the cliffs at just after 6.15pm.
