Visitors to Highbridge’s Apex Park will be able to enjoy a free wildlife clay workshop over the Easter holiday next month.
Children aged between 5-9 years will be able to get creative – and messy! – by taking part in the event on Saturday April 3rd from 10am-12 noon.
Burnham artist Margaret Micklewright will be leading the event and encouraging children to find natural objects at Apex Park to use for making animals out of clay in 3D and 2D.
“Children will use their observation skills to decide what to make, then roll out, cut, build and manipulate their work using natural objects,” organiser Marina Turner told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Places are limited so if you would like to confirm your child’s attendance, contact Marina Turner on 01278 435512 as soon as possible. Warm, old clothing plus an apron, wellies and waterproofs are a must.
This workshop has been made possible thanks to funding from the Somerset Community Foundation, when they granted £2,615 to the Friends of Apex Park in early 2009 towards free events that can run until June 2010.
