Police called to Highbridge to investigate ‘suspicious activity’

-

Police were called to Highbridge on Thursday afternoon (February 15th) after two men were reportedly acting in a ‘suspicious manner’ near several shops in the town.

One local resident told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “There was concern that two men were attempting to enter the rear of several businesses in Church Street.”

“Local business staff and a number of workmen from a building site pursued them towards the centre of Highbridge. The men got into a car and headed towards Bridgwater.”

Police spokesman Dan Mountain told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Friday (February 16th): “At 2.30pm we received several calls regarding suspicious activity in Church Street.”

“Several units from Burnham were sent down to investigate, but no further action was taken and no offences were committed.”
