A Christmas tree festival is to be held in Burnham-On-Sea this coming weekend.
St Andrew’s Church, on the town’s seafront, will be hosting its first Christmas Tree Festival to supplement its life-size crib scene, which will also be held in the church.
Alex Turco, Chairman of the Burnham Chamber of Commerce, will officially open the ceremony at 4pm on Sunday (December 14th). Local firms and groups have sponsored trees to decorate.
Reverend Graham Witts, vicar of St Andrew’s, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It has been a hard year for Burnham and I want to put a smile on the lips of everyone here in our town, to cheer us all up.”
The Festival and Crib are free and there is no entry charge but donations will be welcomed and given to The Children’s Society.
The church will be open daily from next Monday, December 15th, from 10am-4pm for visitors to see all the trees and crib.
“Everyone is welcome to come along on the 14th to see the festival being launched and to enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie at this special seasonal event,” added Rev Witts.
