Residents in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge whose Christmas lights caught the eyes of judges of an annual competition have this week been presented with their awards.
The winners of the Town Council’s competition were handed trophies and certificates during a special ceremony at the start of the council’s latest meeting on Monday evening (January 7th).
The Highbridge winners received their awards from Cllr Pat Burge, Cllr Joe Leach and Cllr Danny Titcombe. First prize went to Mr and Mrs Bale of 54 Poplar Estate. Second was Ms Cross at 7 Blake’s Crescent. And the best joint effort in Highbridge was Mr and Mrs Cross and Mr and Mrs Adams, 75 and 76 Church Street.
The Burnham winners were handed their awards by Cllr Peter Clayton and Mayor Pauline Pollard. First prize went to Paula and Graham Payne of 1 Trinity Close; second was Mike and Denise Perrin of 7 Wilde Close. The award for best joint effort went to Mr and Mrs Smith and Mr and Mrs Gardner of 2 and 3 Trinity Close.
The award for best business effort in Burnham and Highbridge went to Salisburys Florists of the High Street in Burnham. Cllr Dennis Davey and Cllr Peter Clayton are pictured handing over the awards.
