BBC Points West presenter to switch on Burnham’s Christmas lights

-

BBC Points West presenter Alex Lovell is to switch on Burnham-On-Sea’s Christmas lights next month during a day of festive entertainment.

Burnham Chamber of Trade, which is overseeing the switch-on, said it is delighted that Alex, who is a familiar face to TV viewers across the region, will be lighting up the town centre on Saturday November 22nd.

The Christmas lights switch-on will be held during a day of free festive entertainment outside the Victoria Hotel in Burnham’s Victoria Street.

An outdoor food and craft gift market will be held along Victoria Street with local choirs and community groups performing festive music throughout the day. There will also be a visit by Father Christmas and other entertainment on display. The big lights switch-on itself will be held at 4.45pm.

“It promises to be a superb event to mark the official start of Burnham’s Christmas season and we are delighted to have Alex lined up to light up the town centre and support local businesses,” said a Chamber spokesman.
