A box of chocolates which was sent to a Burnham-On-Sea business last December as a Christmas present has just been delivered… almost seven months late!
Staff at Shickle Shoes, pictured, could hardly believe their eyes when the box of festive decorated chocs was delivered by a postman on Friday morning, July 6th.
The package only had to come 12 miles since as it was posted by Cheddar-based Web design company Townsend Studios last December. But the package has taken over six and a half months to be delivered!
Geoff Shickle, who manages the High Street shoe shop, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The postal mark on the packaging clearly shows the chocolates were posted well in time before Christmas on December 14th so quite why they have taken so long to be delivered is anyone’s guess!”
“We would love to know where the package has been all this time.”
Since the chocolates have only recently passed their sell-by date on June 30th, Geoff decided it was fine to eat them. “They tasted great – a real late Christmas treat,” he said.
