Over 150 people attended Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society’s popular annual Christmas concert last night (Thursday).
The festive concert was held in St. John’s Church, Highbridge, where the audience was entertained by a selection of traditional Christmas songs and carols.
The programme included a line-up of music from composers including Britten, Gritton, Lauridsen, Rutter, San Saëns, Vivaldi and Warlock under the direction of Musical Director Nicholas Bromilow.
Young musicians from the The King Alfred Youth Brass Band also performed at the concert under the direction of Sarah Alsop.
“We had a very good turbout once again and really appreciate the continued support we receive each year,” said Chairman Bev Hearn, pictured right with Deputy Mayor Dennis Davey, who also attended.
“The audience enjoyed some wonderful Christmas music whilst supporting the Choral Society, which is a local registered charity.”
