Burnham-On-Sea sisters plan to cycle across China for charity

-

Two sisters from Burnham-On-Sea are set to pedal 450km on their bikes across China to raise cash for charity.

Jessica and Melissa Vearncombe, pictured, will be taking part in the Action for Charity bike ride this autumn, however they need to raise a minimum of £6,400 between them by June 27th to enter the charity event.

The ride, which will take place in September, will raise cash for Ovarian Cancer Action, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Breast Cancer Care.

Jessica told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We lost our granddad to Cancer and I lost a friend to Cancer so this is close to our hearts.”

“Our friends have been giving us lots of backing and we’ve raised around £1,000 already from several events.”

Their next events include a coffee morning at Pawlett British Legion this Saturday from 10.30am, a Blues Brothers Tribute night at Weston Pier on April 26th and a DreamMen night at the Winter Gardens on May 9th.

The sisters each need to raise £3,200 for the event, with about £1,400 of that paying to take part.
