Burnham-On-Sea fire crews were called to a Highbridge home on Wednesday (February 12th) after high winds caused damage to a chimney pot.
Crews used ladders and ropes to reach the damaged structure on top of the building in Burnham Road, pictured here.
“There were concerns that the damaged concrete could fall onto the ground, posing a risk to walkers underneath. Crews were called to make it safe,” a fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Two crews were called to the scene and the damaged chimney was safely brought down to the ground at 3.45pm.
High winds gusting over 60mph swept through the Burnham area during Wednesday, also causing several trees, walls and fences to be blown down.
