A group of parents at Highbridge Children’s Centre have this week completed a new course that provided them with ways to help children learn and get involved in their learning and development.
Entitled ‘Let’s Start Learning Together’, the 15-week programme has been run as a partnership between the Children’s Centre and Somerset Skills and Learning.
While the parents have been on the course the children have been looked after by Children’s Centre staff.
Then, towards the end of each session, parents and children have come together to try and put into practice some of the ideas from the course, such as playing and singing together.
This is the first time the course has been offered at the Children’s Centre. The final session, a celebration of the parents’ and children’s achievements, took place on Friday (June 19th).
