Fundraisers across the Burnham-On-Sea area collected thousands of pounds for BBC Children In Need during Friday (November 18th).
Among them were children from Burnham’s Rose Cottage Nursery, pictured above, who took part in a sponsored beach walk in their pyjamas while singing songs!
“They all had a really nice time and enjoyed meeting people along the route who stopped and made donations. We managed to raise around £350,” Kellie Sanders, Deputy Manager, told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
Meanwhille, collection buckets were also rattling at ASDA in Highbridge, pictured right, where Pudsey Bear made a special appearance.
Children in the Maple Class at Highbridge’s Churchfield school also raised £192.94 for Children in Need by making cakes and biscuits to sell, as pictured below.
Staff at Boots The Chemists, Greggs The Bakery and BOS Cafe on Burnham High Street collected hundreds of pounds in fancy dress.
And children and staff at Playaway Day Nursery in Burnham also dressed up in Pudsey bear spots to raise funds.
Residents at Burnham’s Elizabeth Court also raised over £60 by holding a cake and quiz morning for Children In Need. Jane Lock, Extra Care Manager at Elizabeth Court, said: “The quiz morning was great fun and added a real spark to everyone’s day – thanks go to all the residents and staff who donated so generously.”
