Burnham cheese and wine festival to be held alongside art exhibition

-

An international cheese and wine festival plus an art exhibition are set to be held in Burnham-On-Sea during April.

The two events are being organised by Burnham Rotary Club at the town’s Princess Theatre to raise funds for local charities.

Nine local artists will be showing their paintings for sale featuring a variety of styles and media during the exhibition from Thursday 17th April until Saturday 19th April.

“The work on show will vary from representational art to more abstract pieces depicting various subjects in oil, acrylic and watercolour,” Rotary spokesman George Moon told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

A portion of all sales will be donated to charity. The exhibition will be open from 2–4pm on the Thursday and 10am-4 pm on Friday and Saturday. Admission is free.

On the Saturday evening an International Cheese and Wine Festival will be held at The Princess, starting at 7 for 7.30pm. “The exhibition will remain on display during the cheese and wine festival with the art on sale and an auction during the evening,” added George.

Tickets will be priced at £10 to include a wide selection of international wines and cheeses. Tickets are available from The Princess Theatre’s Booking Office on 01278 784464 or Ashley Edwards in Church Street, Highbridge on 07766 228676.
