These were the scenes in Highbridge on Sunday (January 16th) as police launched an investigation into a serious assault that has left a man in a critical condition.
Officers were called to Charlotte Court at just before 5.25pm on Saturday evening when a 37-year-old male suffered serious injuries in an assault.
The victim was rushed to hospital where he was still being treated on Sunday. Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com he was in a “stable, but critical condition.”
A 25-year-old woman has been arrested and is in police custody, helping officers with their ongoing enquiries.
Part of the car park outside the building was still sealed off with police tape throughout Sunday, as pictured, while officers gathered evidence.
Members of a crime scene investigation unit spent part of the day taking photos of a trail of blood in the car park which led away from the taped-off entrance to Charlotte Court.
Meanwhile, police have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to contact them via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
