A new group formed in memory of a Burnham-On-Sea teenager who died in September has raised enough money to seek official charitable status.
18 year-old Charley Marks took his own life in September and the new charity, In Charley’s Memory, has been formed to support other young people with mental health issues.
Charley’s mother, Jo Clement, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a really good turnout at our pamper evening and have now reached our initial target of £5,000 to formally register the charity.”
“But the fundraising doesn’t stop now and we are still looking for volunteers to help us and to come up with fundraising ideas. We already have a race night, a physic evening, a ball, a travelling bear, and marathon runs being planned.”
“I’m amazed with the wonderful support being shown – it’s growing all the time and is really overwhelming.”
