Burnham-On-Sea Chamber of Trade has presented the winners of its latest shop window competition with their prizes during the group’s AGM.
The competition to find hidden items in shop windows was successful in attracting large numbers of extra visitors into Burnham to explore the town’s diverse range of shops.
Dozens of families took part and the winners included Ben Wood, Ben Whitrow, the Strong family and Constance May Patterson with prizes coming from the Chamber, Princess Theatre, Sea Breeze Art Gallery and the Ritz Cinema.
The AGM was attended by several of the Chamber’s members and commitee, who heard about an active year for the group.
The distribution of thousands of copies of a new edition of the Chamber’s shopping guide booklet is continuing across the west country to promote Burnham as a shopping destination.
Other events held for Burnham Chamber members have included a business election hustings with the local General Election candidates, several social events, and evenings with speakers.
Planning for this year’s Burnham-On-Sea Christmas lights switch-on, which will take place on November 21st, is also underway.
The Chamber said that it is closely working with Town Centre Manager Bev Milner Simonds on activities to promote the town centre.
