Burnham-On-Sea’s new shopping guide will be launched at the annual general meeting of the town’s Chamber Of Trade later this month.
The group is putting the finishing touches to a new version of the pocket-sized booklet, which provides an A-Z guide to Burnham’s best shops.
Over 70,000 copies will be printed and distributed in tourist information centres, shops, motorway services, pubs and holiday parks in time for the busy summer season.
The AGM will be held at 6pm on Tuesday 22nd April in the upstairs function room at the Somerset & Dorset public house in the High Street, Burnham.
The meeting will be open to all businesses in the town to hear presentations from Sedgemoor District Council’s Food and Health & Safety team, plus Chris Abbott about the Highbridge & Burnham Arts Group’s summer festival plans.
The winners of the ‘spot the odd item in the window’ competition will be announced and presented with their prizes.
The meeting will also receive a report from the committee of activities in 2007/2008, receive accounts for the year ending 31/3/2008 and to elect a new committee for 2008/2009.
Anyone wishing to join the committee should contact the Chamber as soon as possible.
Chairman Alex Turco said: “We shall look back at a very successful year and look forward to the opportunities of the future. We look forward to welcoming as many businesses as possible.”
