Santa called in at Highbridge over the weekend to meet children and give his support to two ladies who are holding a year of fundraising challenges.
Nicola Noad and Tamara Ellis made a new year’s resolution to get healthy and have held 11 of their 12 planned fundraising events as part of their ‘Challenge 12’ project.
Nicola, from Sparks Way in Highbridge and Tamara, from Highbridge Road in Burnham, aimed to help 12 charities and reach a target of £1,200 but they have already beaten that and have raised over £3,000.
On Saturday (November 30th) they held a successful Christmas Market at Highbridge’s Community Hall in Market Street in aid of Children’s Hospice South West.
“£275 was raised in total for South West Children’s Hospice plus £75 was raised by Highbridge Dreascheme on the tombola and £37 was raised by the War Memorial Trust at Southwell House serving teas and coffees,” Nicola told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “Our total raised for the year so far is a huge £3,155.50 which is fantastic – we’re very grateful to all who have supportred us.”
There’s one challenge still remaining for the duo, pictured below, which is a Christmas Fancy Dress Run in December.
Among the stalls were crafts, tombolas and a chance to have your photo taken with Santa by Flash Pictures Professional Photography.
